Matrix Consulting Engineers is proud to announce that we have been shortlisted for the Business Growth Award, sponsored by Actus, at the 2026 Barnsley & Rotherham Business Awards. The shortlisting recognises a period of real growth for the practice: a bigger team, new senior roles, in-house survey capability and a widening range of engineering services for clients across South Yorkshire and the UK.
A Year of Growth
Matrix is a Barnsley-based practice of consulting civil and structural engineers. Over the past year we have grown in every direction that matters to our clients.
- A bigger team. We are now 16 strong, with new senior roles including a Head of Project Management, a Delivery Lead and a Head of Marketing, alongside new engineers and technicians. Meet the team.
- Survey and design under one roof. Our sister company, Matrix Advanced Surveying, brings drone surveying, LiDAR and point cloud survey in-house, so the people who measure a site work alongside the people who design for it.
- New sectors and services. From substation design for power, renewables and data centres to bridge design and rail work including Network Rail footbridges, our work now covers a wider range of sectors than ever.
- Accredited ways of working. Our quality management system is accredited to BSI ISO 9001, and our information management is ISO 19650 certified with BSI, supporting BIM delivery on complex projects.
